Current Family Activities
Jack Swenson and Joyce Segelquist were united in marriage on September 9, 2000 at the Grace United Methodist Church in Topeka KS. This is a picture of them with Jack's daughters. Larry and Linda Hunter and their oldest son Lenn and Barbara Logan. Below are members of Joyce's family, her daughter, Ellen and Keith Mushock and their son Jonathan Wesley Mushock on the right side of the picture. Standing to the left of Joyce are her daughter, Susan (Suzy) Lynn Segelquist and behind Suzy is Joyce's son, Mark. On the far left is Ellen and Keith's daughter, Laura. Laura is a Senior and is on the Yearbook staff at Emporia High. Jonathan is a Junior and plays Football at Emporia High.
On the left is Kathy Pearse, who became a friend of Suzy Segelquist when they were young women and Kathy had a small child to raise. Joyce and Bill Segelquist and family took them under their wings and Kathy was given assistance of an emergency nature and also Joyce baby-sat with her child, Angel. The picture on the right is Kathy's daughter Angel Washington and her son, Christopher Bowen. Kathy, Angel and Christopher are considered as extended family of Joyce's family. Joyce is the only Grandma Angel has now that Kathy's Mother is no longer alive. Kathy works at SRS and got this position because of volunteer work which she had performed with the Crittendon Home. Angel works and also attends Allen County Junior College at Burlingame.
Dick and
Phyllis Francis celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary at the
Belleville Country Club in Belleville KS October 21, 2000. Pictures that follow
are of other relatives and friends in attendance.
Mickey and Leona Ferguson,
Mickey is Phyllis' brother and Patriarch of the Ferguson family.
Their Grandmother was Maud(Walker) Ferguson, who was a sister to Mabel Swenson.
Dick and
Charlotte Childs, Charlotte is on the front left is a cousin of Phyllis,
her husband Dick is fourth from the left.

Home of Jerry and Ann Palmer, residence built in 1886, located in Potwin Place.
Home decorated for the "Homes for the Holiday" tour by CASA. An annual tour to support the "Court Appointed Special Advocates". Approximately 1200 people toured this home over a three day period in November.
November
24, 2000, a day that will have a lasting memory in Swede's life. He achieved
the ultimate in the game of golf, a Hole-in-One on #17 Par 3 150 yards at the Topeka
Public Golf Coarse. He was using a new #9 Wood that his High School classmate,
Bob Feasel, had made for him. It was only the fifth time he had used the club and
most
certainly the best shot of the five.
