Raymond Thompson was born in Estherville Iowa. He was a traveling salesman for most of his adult life. They lived in Iowa and Nebraska in the early days and later worked for C. D. Smith Wholesale Drug Co.out of St. Joseph, MO.   Moved to Belleville KS in the middle to late 30's for the company and lived there until 1949 when he and his son had purchased  the Fitch Drug Store, located at 17th and Kansas in Topeka, KS. They lived in Topeka and owned this store as well as expanding with another new store at 29th and California, both under the name of Thompson Pharmacy.   He died of a Heart Attack, being stricken at the 17th and Kansas store.  Alice continued to live in Topeka for a number of years, keeping the books for the stores and then when they were sold she worked at the Jayhawk Hotel and then for a period of time owned the Gift Shop on the ground floor of the  hotel  building. After a few years she sold the business and subsequently moved to Golden Colorado. She lived there until she died in 1980.  Both are buried in Mount Hope Cemetery, Topeka KS. They had a Son, Raymond Thompson, Jr. and a daughter Marjorie Ruth.  Ray was a Pharmacist, with his degree from the University of Kansas and now lives in retirement near Evergreen CO. with his wife, Margie Clareen Gaasch.
