They were both born in New York. They lived in Root TWP. Montgomery CO. New York and are buried at the Rural Grove Cemetery in Montgomery CO. Samuel grew up near Mayfield Fulton CO. NY ( up the road from Sprakers Corner, five miles to yellow house between two Churches) Mary Catherine's Parent's are Hugh Hudson and Esther Rutherford Hudson.

Letters from these family members are in possession of Swede Swenson, telling happenings of the family throughout the late 1800's. He was born in Montgomery CO. He and Amanda are both buried in Aurora NY. Phillip was an Elder in the Presbyterian Church in Aurora NY.

Francis M. Walker ( 1844-1923)

He was born in Fonda NY. When he was 4 years old the family moved to Otsego CO. NY. After 2 more years they went back to Fonda, then Cayuga CO. NY remaining there until he enlisted in the Volunteer Infantry of NY. Francis was a Pvt. in Company D. 148th Regiment New York Volunteers. He was discharged in 1865 at Richmond VA. He participated in the battles of Hatch's Run, last battle of Petersburg, Rice's Station and Appromattox Court House. When he was discharged he returned home to Cayuga CO. He married Mary Elizabeth in 1868 by Reverend Hoffman of the Lutheran Church of St. Paris, OH. They moved to a farm one and one half miles east of Aurora NY on the Cayuga Lake shore. In 1873 they moved to Shenadoah IA and on to Belleville, Kansas in 1886. He worked at the Hunter Elevator and later at the Mill owned by W. B. Faulkner. They were mambers of the First Christian Church. She was born in Seneca Falls NY. and died of a stroke in Belleville, and he died of a stroke in the Veterans Hospital in Hampton VA. but both are buried in Belleville KS.
